From international mysteries to heart-pounding adventures, now you can enjoy National Geographic Channel's videos and ring tones on your cell phone!

 
 

News Broadcasting Japan Co., Ltd (,Tokyo, President Yoshitsugu Koizumi, NBJ) and Giga Networks (Kyoto, President Keizo Odori, GIGA) announced the launch of new cell-phone service that enables users to watch National Geographic Channel's video content and use ring tones with the Chakushin Melody GIGA (a music service for cell phones provided by GIGA). The delivery service will start on December 8, 2006.

One of the missions of the National Geographic Channel is to alert the audience to the severe condition of the Earth caused in part by the destruction of the environment in the past few decades.


 

National Geographic Channel's goal is to elevate our understanding of the Earth's crisis, assist in stopping environmental destruction and improve the co-existence of human beings and the nature. To accomplish the mission, National Geographic Channel provides documentaries to enable the audience to experience the Earth by exploring the Earth's surface, the sea and outer space.

 
  Though this new service, NBJ, GIGA and Lotus Inc. (Tokyo, President Hiroshi Koizumi, Lotus) will promote National Geographic Channel's content to over 3 million GIGA members and actively seek to acquire new customers. The group will also develop a new Internet delivery architecture, a new business model for high-quality video delivery, and provide the infrastructure for high-quality video delivery for NBJ in concert with Faith Inc.(Kyoto, C.E.O./President Hajime Hirasawa, owner of GIGA).
